| Wow, so my bike is sitting in the garage right now. And I have to
say... It's red hot. Haha, I'm quite smitten with it.
Anyway, I will post more about it later, along with my exploits
First Exploit:
So my dad was teaching me how to ride this morning after
the Hudson Rotary Club Breakfast. I feel really really stupid, as
if I had forgotten how to ride a bike and I'm so scared to turn because
it feels like it's going to tip. Everything went semi-well, I
took it down the street and back, but had to stop 5 or so times cuz I
stalled the engine. There is definitely a lot to think about when
riding. When I got home, I thought there was a Hudson City truck
(the ones with the siren on top and look important) coming down the
road and I was afraid it would stop and someone would come out because
I was not wearing a helmet (they are on the way!!! I ordered them off
ebay) and I only have my temps. However, it was only an Adelphia
truck and I was saved. Then I rode to the garage and thought I
was done, but I wasn't. Once I stopped, I wasn't paying attention
to the weight of the bike and it got the better of me on the right
side. Totally my fault! But I was able to try my best in
letting the bike fall as slowly as possible. So the resulting
damage is the right mirror. It definitely couldn't handle the
weight of the bike and the cover collapsed on itself (the mirror wasn't
broken). So my dad and I fixed it up with a lot of tape so it
looks really ugly. I've decided not to buy a new one until I
learn how to ride and know I won't break it again. Thank God I
didn't hurt myself and I could reduce the scratches to the bare minimum
(I didn't notice much of a difference in scratches already on the
fairing). Anyway, that's it and thank you for reading my first exploit.
Second Exploit:
Okay, so Adam came over and taught me some important stuff... like
where's first gear and where's neutral and where's second gear.
One would think they are all in order, but neutral is inbetween 1st and
2nd gear. I made that mistake. Anyway, I'm riding better
now, I'm not that afraid to turn at higher speeds (before it was like
the riding a bike feeling of tipping over if I turn). And I can
shift through gears much better than before. The only thing I
still suck at is stopping. Which brings me to my next accident,
falling on the left side after I stopped (I fell on my right side in my
first exploit). So I broke my other mirror... And they will
cost me, but at a later date. For now, who needs mirrors?
I'm up to 25 mph!!! Once again, thank you for reading my second
exploit.

| So my new bike will be ready tomorrow. I'm going to pick it up at
11:00 AM May 28, 2005. A 1990 Suzuki GSX 600 Katana with 16k
miles and in the color red. Old, but true and definitely a
good starter bike for me . Pray for me!
Okay, so my bike was not ready, but because of the delay, they are
installing a new windshield for me along with the maintenance tune up
(clean out carbs, new spark plugs, rebuff paint, etc). Tuesday
should be the day I can pick it up.
